There are several different skills for you to utilize in OSRS. That being said, some level up much quicker than others, which is something to keep in mind if you are looking to get them up to 99. With that in mind, if you want to save on your OSRS gold and level up quickly, then here are some tips on what skills to focus on.
Fletching
We will start with the fastest skill that you can get to 99. A fast way of getting this skill level up is by fletching darts. It doesn’t cost a lot and the XP you can get is definitely worth your while. To begin with, the quickest method will cost you 120M OSRS gp. You will want to start off with bronze arrows, before making your way through to Dragon darts.
If you don’t want to have to buy OSRS gold and find a cheaper method, then Mithril darts can also be used. This will take you around seven hours to hit 99, but will only cost you just over 51M OSRS gold.
Construction
If you want to level up your Construction skill quick, then you may be looking at forking out a lot of OSRS gold. The quickest way to get started is to make Crude wooden chairs. This will take you up to level 19, after which you can switch to Oak chairs to take you to level 33. After an hour or so, you will then be focusing on Oak Larders to get to level 52. From there, you can get to 99 making Mahogany Tables.
If you want to make this go a bit quicker, then you can switch to Gnome Benches when you get to level 77. It is a much faster method but is going to cost you in excess of 182M OSRS gp.
Prayer
Another very fast skill is Prayer. This method uses Dagannoth Bones at first, which will be offered to altars to help you reach 99. Once you hit level 70, you will be then able to use the Superior Dragon Bones. By manually clicking, you can get to 99 in just 10 hours. The cost of this however sits at around 210M OSRS gp.
If you don’t want to have to find OSRS gold for sale, then you could always opt for Wyrm Bones. These will only cost you 68M OSRS gold, but you will be clicking for 27 hours in this method. If you do want to AFK, then you are looking at nearly double this time. To keep the costs at a downlow, we can also train Prayer with Ensouled Heads. After you hit level 93 Magic, you will be able to cast Reanimate Dragon Heads, which will get you to 99 for just 63M OSRS gp.
Firemaking
We started the list with the fastest level in which you can level to 99. We will be ending it on what many would consider to be the easiest skill to 99 in the entire game. This is courtesy of its profits and the requirements that are needed for it.
You can get to level 50 in just 35 minutes, simply by lighting logs and Maple logs. Then, if you want to take it to 99 from here, you can take part in the Winterodt. This can take you up to 65 hours to complete, though it depends on what your approach is to the Winterodt itself.
For the best rates of experience, your best bet is to avoid fletching. This does require you to focus on the task at hand, since you need to keep an eye on the brazier to get the additional points for repairing and relighting to get 500 points. This will see you earning a decent profit of up to 10M OSRS gold. If you manage to get lucky with your drops, you are looking at a very viable way of getting to 99 quickly.

If you have 23M gold to spare, then you could always opt for the method of using light logs to get to 99. By burning Yew, Redwood, Magic and Maple logs you can reach 99 much quicker than you would in the Winterodt. You can arguably earn more XP from lighting certain logs, since Winterodt caps the maximum XP you can earn an hour at a rate that is lower.
All of these skills are great for you to get started with to work towards 99. There is going to be some initial investment to get there, but there are alternative techniques that can help you to save OSRS gold as well. You may have considered spending your gold on the likes of the Twisted Bow or another kind of item that you crave, but putting gold into skills is very effective in the long run.
