The fleet
HMD Trucking runs primarily in Midwest, Eastern and Southern states. Additional services were provided west of the I-35 corridor and Texas, and over all 48 states.
About 90% of the fleet consists of the classic Peterbilt 579 and Peterbilt 567. Every American truck driver knows these models. They have comfortable cabs with climate control and plenty of room for two. Peterbilt has been constructed especially for reliability and power when transporting heavy loads. The 13-liter diesel engine and 455 horsepower are under the hood. All Petes 579 that are used for hauling dry van loads have automatic transmission, but for the Pete 567 (flatbed division) you can choose the type of transmission you are familiar with: 10-speed manual if you like to control everything by yourself or automatic if you don’t want to be distracted by shifting gears.
Trucks are governed at 70 mph so they can haul cargo fast and without delays.

- Local Dry van drivers are charged an hourly rate of $27.It provides approximately $1,400 – $1,500 per week, which translates to $70,000 – $75,000 per year.
- Regional Dry van drivers can make up to $1,700 per week at the rate of $0.75 CPM. Average annual earnings is $85,000.
- OTR Solo drivers can earn up to $0.60 CPM base plus a $0.10 CPM safety/productivity bonus. Average Solo OTR drivers’ salary is $1,800 – $1,900 a week and $90,000 – $95,000 a year.
- OTR Flatbed Solo drivers make $0.65 CPM plus $0.05 CPM bonus in case you drive more than 9000 miles monthly. The average weekly salary is about $1,900 to $2,000 and the annual income is $95,000 – $100,000.
- OTR Teams rate is $0.77 CPM plus $0.05 CPM $0.10 CPM safety/productivity bonus. As a result, teams can earn $4,000 – $4,600 per week.Plus a $10,000 sign-up bonus. Actual yearly income ranges from $210,000 to $230,000 per team.
